Our country – New Zealand – is the first in the world to see the light each day. That’s what inspired our name: the First Light house.

The idea for our entry came from the classic Kiwi bach (pronounced batch) – a New Zealand holiday home – where New Zealanders retreat and get back to basics. Baches exemplify Kiwi values: a strong connection with the landscape, a hands-on ‘do it yourself’ mentality and outdoor socializing.
